Photos that honor the real you

You want photos you love that look and feel like you.

It can be intimidating to step in front of a camera, trusting that you've found the best person to photograph you (especially if you dread having your photo taken!). I get it.

That's why we'll work together every step of the way. With my guided process, we'll create photos of yourself that you love.

What is the photography experience like?

1 - We book in a time to chat. This is where you tell me what you're after, the deliverables you need, the outcome you want, etc. During this time, we work out if we're a good fit to work together. Photo sessions start from $99 (see here for more information).

2 - If we decide that we're a good fit to work together, we work out the logistics.

3 - After the session, we view the images together and you get to select the ones you love. Your images will be processed and delivered to you within the agreed timeframe.

4 - Enjoy!

"Images are excellent and we all love them! Everything was easy and we appreciated the 'on the day' tips and tricks."

Your photographer

I've been a photographer since 2016. I fell into it by accident - at the time I worked as an assistant for a local photographer. She generously taught me everything I know, and when we moved away in 2018 I decided to start my own business.

Photography, to me, is a science, as well as an art.

It's art because there is something innately beautiful in the art of freezing a moment in time, more so when the subject is a living, breathing, human being. It takes creativity to be able to frame and use light in a manner that emphasizes the uniqueness of the subject.

On the other hand, photography is science because there are mechanics, formulas, and rules that can be learned - camera functions, lighting, posing, framing etc. You get great images if you understand and apply the science.

I think people are absolutely fascinating, each with their own story to tell.

I'm excited to be able to help you tell yours .... in the form of a photograph.

Other questions you may have

What type of photography do you offer?

I specialize in professional headshots and portraiture. A photo session with me is an opportunity to have some adult 'you' time and an opportunity to capture beautiful images of yourself (and your partner).

What should I wear?

I highly recommend you dress to suit the occasion. Jeans and a t-shirt will work well for casual photos; but I if you're wanting some professional looking headshots or heirloom-style portraits, the dressier the better. You'll never regret dressing your best.

What does it cost?

Prices vary, depending on what you're after - how long the session, how many people, how many images you'd like, etc.

To give you an idea, a portrait session starts at $99, paid at the time of booking to secure your time on my schedule. This includes a 30 min duration together (includes the photoshoot and an in-person viewing session) and a single image provided in high and social media resolution. There are options to purchase more images and/or print products (from $50).

If we decide that we're a good fit to work together, I will be able to give you a quote shortly after our call.

Do you shoot in studio or on-location?

Both. Tell me what you need during our chat and I'll let you know if it's possible.

How long do sessions take?

Anything from ten to ninety minutes - we can work as quickly as you need to or take our time.

How many people are included?

For a standard $99 session, up to three.

Where are you based?

Rolleston, New Zealand.

What happens if I need to reschedule?

Life happens, so there is plenty of grace - within reasonable limits - as long as we give each other as much notice as possible.
